Over the years, I've worn many hats! Throughout my career, I have taken on many roles and responsibilities. I have a background in counseling psychology and parenting education, holding graduate degrees in both fields.
I'm also an experienced baker. In 2012, I started a home baking business and sold at local farmers markets, in Massachusetts. More recently, I have switched from selling, to my passion, teaching.
I love working one-one with tweens and teens, and have been teaching them both in-person and online since 2017.
The more classes I've taught, the more I've realized that baking is the perfect way to learn skills, build confidence, and support connection.
I bring my unique background to sharing what I love with parents and their families. It's my goal that families come together in the kitchen and experience the power of baking.
When you enroll in Bakeology: Teen Cookie Baking Course, your tweens/teens will master making three different cookie recipes, gain confidence in their own kitchens using their own tools, and create delicious cookies. As parents, you will cherish the time you spend bonding with your teens, creating new memories, and learning together.
HERE'S WHAT PARENTS SAY ABOUT WORKING WITH SARA...
"Sara was very friendly, patient and led an engaging class which gave the kids a change to ask questions as they went along. Sara would also take the time to check in with each kid throughout the class and ask how they were doing." Cathy B.
"We LOVE Sara Ran Away with the Spoon! Sara did a cooking lesson for my 4-year-old. During the lesson, Sara was engaging, spoke kindly to my daughter, and patiently taught her - virtually! I highly recommend Sara." Krysta J.
" I was thrilled to have the opportunity to bake with Sara and to hear her passion for how baking can help to build strong relationships with teens and tweens. As a school administrator, I know how significantly the Social and Emotional wellbeing of teens and tweens have suffered over the past few years since COVID. Any opportunity for a teen to try a new skill, and in the process build a strong connection with a caring adult, is something that should be welcomed and celebrated. " Ellen G.
"Sara Ran Away With The Spoon provided an exceptional baking class that not only taught my four kids essential baking skills but also emphasized organization, planning, and following directions. Sara’s engaging teaching style made the lessons both fun and educational, boosting their confidence in the kitchen. My children came away with wonderful memories and newfound enthusiasm for baking, thanks to Sara's unique approach and supportive guidance." Jenae T.
