You're shifting into something new, and you don't have to figure it out alone. Small discussion groups and creative exercises, led by a counselor-trained educator, not a therapist.
Let's reject the term "empty nest" and the images of loss it carries. Your nest isn't empty .It's changing, often in exciting ways. This is the guiding principle behind my work: helping midlife moms explore who they're becoming as parents, partners, and — most importantly — unique individuals.

As an empty nester you've spent a lot of time on your family and your own passions may have been put on hold. Join our online chat to uncover your passions.

I’m an educator who has worn many hats throughout my career. What remains constant, I care about creativity, relationships, and supporting women. My journey has taken me from counseling psychology and parenting education (with a Master’s in counseling and graduate certificate in parenting education) to running my own business, Parents Prepare.
After years of teaching parents, I followed another passion, baking, and started Sara Ran Away with the Spoon. It began as a home bakery and evolved into teaching teens to bake.
Today, I'm here helping midlife moms uncover their purpose, passion, and possibility as they face one of life's big transitions, their empty nest. My goal is to think of this time in a positive way, versus the sad/lonely image of an empty nest.
When I’m not creating, you’ll find me outdoors—swimming, biking, walking, or cross-country skiing, or curled up inside with a good book (fiction or cookbooks!). I’m a mom of two grown children and share my days with my husband and our rescue dog, Phoebe.
