As an an experienced baker and parent educator, I'm passionate about teaching beginner bakers the skills they need. Baking is not only fun and rewarding, it also teaches valuable lessons such as patience, organization, and time management.
When you enroll in my online baking course, you will receive detailed step-by-step instructions, helpful tips, and plenty of hands-on practice to ensure that every member of your family comes away with the skills and confidence to create three amazing cookies.
By completing this course, your tweens and teens will enjoy a sense of accomplishment that comes from creating a delicious treat from scratch. As parents you will cherish the time you spend bonding with your children, creating new memories and learning together.
Over the years, I've worn many hats!
Throughout my career, I have taken on many roles and responsibilities. I have a background in counseling psychology and parenting education, holding graduate degrees in both fields. For many years, I worked as a parenting educator, specifically focusing on working with the parents of teenagers.
In addition to my work in parenting education, I also ventured into the world of baking. I started my own home-based bakery called Sara Ran Away with the Spoon. The bakery became known for its unique stuffed cookies with surprise middles and non-traditional bundt cakes. I sold my creations at local farmers markets.
In 2017, I switched gears from selling baked goods to teaching baking classes to tweens and teens. One of the main messages I convey to my students is the empowering nature of baking, especially for tweens and teens. Baking not only allows them to gain confidence but also supports creativity and fosters connections with others, all while learning the important life skill of cooking.
