Sara has worn many hats—educator, counselor, baker, and now, a guide for women navigating life’s transitions. With a Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology and a graduate certificate in Parenting Education, Sara began her career creating educational workshops for parents of teens, helping them better understand and connect with their children.
When her own children entered high school, she took a step back from this work to pursue another passion—baking. In 2012, she launched Sara Ran Away with the Spoon, first as a home bakery selling at local farmers’ markets, and later as a teaching space where teens could gain confidence, spark creativity, and develop valuable life skills through baking.
Today, Sara Ran Away with the Spoon is evolving again. Having reached mid-life herself, Sara now draws on her background in education, counseling, and life coaching to support women facing their own transitions—whether adjusting to an empty nest, changing careers, coping with loss, or simply seeking a renewed sense of purpose. Her goal is to help make every new chapter not only meaningful, but sweeter.
